The Sing-Off: My Thoughts on the AcoUstiKats
Okay, children, hold on to your seats, because a lot of you are being incredibly judgmental:
First of all, it is spelled AcoUstiKats. The U and K are capitalized because *shocker* they are from the University of Kentucky (UK). Simple enough.
Second of all, they actually KILLED IT the other night, but everyone on tumblr heard “Blurred Lines” and automatically hated them without listening to their INCREDIBLE and IMPRESSIVE arrangement of it. And all that grinding, that’s called performing. When you’re on a national TV competition, its necessary for survival.
Third of all, I know those boys. I’m from Kentucky myself. I live half an hour from UK and go to school an hour from it. I have been admiring the AcoUstiKats for as long as I can remember. Every male in central Kentucky who sings wants to be in the AcoUstiKats. All of you people on this website deciding that you hate them because they sang one song is incredibly rude and judgmental. They are normal college students, like a lot of us. Except for they have an INCREDIBLE talent. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE OF THEM. They are also very respectful and kind gentlemen. Yes, they may have a big head every now and then, but they did make it to the SIng-Off, so they kind of deserve it.
SO, seriously, leave them alone. Call them by their real name and stop making fun of them for being frat-like. They are frat-like in that they basically hang out with each other all the time. Not in the douche-y way that you see on TV or whatever. Just so everyone knows, in KY, these boys are superstars right now. This kind of thing doesn’t happen to kids from Kentucky. So, give them a chance. I promise they will show you that they are worth listening to and appreciating.
Now my rant is over. Yet I still feel angry because I feel like I have to stand up for them because there is this whole other website totally hating on them without their knowledge. But whatever.
